Abstract

The compounds of the formula I exert a pronounced specific cytoprotective effect; they can be used for the treatment of acute and chronic inflammations and organ ischemias caused by narrowing of vessels. R.sup.1 denotes an aliphatic radical having 9 to 19 C atoms in the straight chain, R.sup.2 denotes the acyl radical of a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid having 14 to 24 C atoms, and X denotes a --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --or --CH.dbd.CH-- group. The invention relates to pharmaceutical products in which the active ingredient is the said compounds, as well as to those compounds I in which R.sup.2 denotes the acyl radical of an unsaturated fatty acid, and to the process for the preparation thereof. ##STR1##
