Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the production of poly-(1,4-benzamide) in admixture with SiO.sub.2 by polycondensation of 4-aminobenzoic acid in the presence of SiCl.sub.4 in 1,3-dimethyltetrahydro-2(1H)-pyrimidinone in the presence of salts, such as lithium chloride or calcium chloride.
