Abstract

A novel viral expression vector is employed in the expression of exogenous genes in 'non-permissive' hosts. Exogenous genes under the control of a promoter which promotes expression in 'non-permissive' hosts are thus used to expand the host range of the virus thus allowing production of polypeptides, including polypeptides which are toxic to the target host.
