Abstract

A method for making biomedical devices employing thermoplastic hydrogels on an operant surface thereof is described. The method generally involves heating a thermoplastic hydrogel to a temperature in the range of 50.degree. C. to about 95.degree. C. to a fluid flowable state, dispensing the fluid hydrogel onto the biomedical device and cooling the hydrogel to a substantially solid state. Microwave heating is preferred.
