Abstract
A method is provided for improving the reliability, SO.sub.2 removal and thiosulfate utilization in a wet lime/limestone flue gas desulfurization process by contacting the combustion gases in the presence of the wet lime or limestone with thiosulfate and an organic polyacid chelating agent.
