Abstract

Injections containing anhydrous sodium indomethacin and methods for producing injections containing an hydrous sodium indomethacin which comprise converting a solution of indomethacin to a solution of sodium indomethacin by adding dropwise an aqueous solution of a carbonate of sodium, followed by freeze-drying and heating. The injections of the present invention are practically useful indomethacin injections in which sodium indomethacin anhydride has high safety and chemically high purity and stability, and the lyophilized pharmaceutical preparations are excellent also in that redissolution thereof is facilitated. By the methods for the production of the present invention, it is possible to produce said anhydrous sodium indomethacin efficiently.
