Abstract
Thermosetting compositions comprise, (a) about 10% to about 60% of a polymerizable olefinic monomer such as styrene or vinyl toluene (b) from about 1 to about 40% of a maleimide of the formula: ##STR1## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently selected from hydrogen or C.sub.1-3 alkyl groups, and in which the phenyl group may be substituted with aliphatic, alicyclic, and aromatic groups and up to three halogen or hydroxyl groups, and (c) about 5% to about 89% unsaturated polyester. The compositions are useful for their electrical and heat resistant properties as molding compositions, for the impregnation of electrical coils and for encasing electrical components.
