Abstract
Amino piperazine esters, preferably of the formula: ##STR1## wherein x is 0 or 1 and each R is independently hydrogen or inert substitution, are produced by reacting an (optionally substituted) N-(2-aminoethyl) piperazine with an (optionally substituted) alkylene carbonate. The novel compounds are biocides that retard the growth of fungi and are also useful in preparing polymers.
