Abstract
Novel quinolinecarboxylic acid derivatives of the formula: ##STR1## wherein Z is ##STR2## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl, R.sup.3 is hydrogen atom, hydroxy or a lower alkyl and R.sup.4 is hydrogen atom, hydroxy, amino, aminomethyl, a (lower alkyl)aminomethyl or a di(lower alkyl)aminomethyl, and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The compounds have excellent antibacterial activities and are useful as an antibacterial agent.
