Abstract
A platinum complex of the formula ##STR1## wherein n is 1 or 2 and X is chlorine, bromine or iodine is described, which is useful intermediate; thus, it can be reacted with silver nitrate or silver sulfate and the resulting compound can be treated with an anion exchange resin or barium hyroxide to give a compound of the formula ##STR2## which can then be reacted with glycolic acid to furnish a compound of the formula ##STR3## wherein n is 1 or 2 and A is --OCOCH.sub.2 O--; these products are useful antineoplastic agents.
