Abstract
A process for forming a low smoke, low flame spread composition comprising mixing polybenzimidazole fiber; an inorganic powder filler; and a non-fluorinated phosphazene polymer of the formula ##STR1## where x is an integer from about 20 to about 50,000, Q and Q' are the same or different and are C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 linear or branched alkoxy or substituted or unsubstituted aryloxy and Q' is a group having olefinic unsaturation; and a fluorinate phosphazene polymer of the formula ##STR2## where y is an integer from about 20 to about 50,000 Q.sub.f and Q'.sub.f are the same or different and are --OCH.sub.2 (CF.sub.2).sub.n CF.sub.3 or --OCH.sub.2 (CF.sub.2).sub.n CF.sub.2 H where n is the integer 1 to 20 and Q'' is a group having olefinic unsaturation.
