Abstract

A propane derivative represented by the following formula ##STR1## wherein R represents a lower alkyl group; one of A and B represents a group of the formula ##STR2## and the other represents a group of the formula ##STR3## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are identical or different and each represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group, R.sup.3 represents a substituted or unsubstituted lower alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group or a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic group, and X represents a sulfonyl group or a carbonyl group, and an acid addition salt thereof. The compounds provided by this invention have useful biological activities such as the spasmolytic activity on the vascular smooth muscles and anti-platelet aggregatory activity and are useful as drugs for treating cardiovascular diseases such as angina pectoris, cerebral circulation disorder and thrombosis.
