Abstract

Novel nonionic perfluoroalkylthioglycosides of the formula, R.sub.f -E-S-saccharide are described, wherein R.sub.f is a straight or branched chain perfluoroalkyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms or said perfluoroalkyl substituted by perfluoroalkoxy of 2 to 6 carbon atoms, E is a connecting group, and the saccharide is a mono-, di-, or higher oligosaccharide, comprising 1 to 30 units of 5, 6 or 7 carbon-membered sugars.
