Abstract

Isoxazolines of the general formula II ##STR1## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are each unsubstituted or halogen-, haloalkyl-, alkoxy-, haloalkoxy-, nitro-, cyano-, dialkylphosphonyl- or alkoxycarbonyl-substituted alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, alkoxycarbonyl or dialkoxyphosphonyl, R.sup.2 and R.sup.4 are each also hydrogen and R.sup.3 is also hydroxyalkyl which is unblocked or blocked by a detachable protective group or is haloalkyl, X is hydrogen or a detachable protective group, are used to prepare furans.
