Abstract

Trimethylaluminum is made by reacting a methyl halide with a tri-C.sub.2+ alkylaluminum, e.g. triethylaluminum, in the presence of a catalyst form by reacting bismuth metal with an alkylaluminum compound, e.g. trialkylaluminum, and an alkyl halide.
