Abstract

Disclosed is a method for inhibiting corrosion of metal surfaces in contact with H.sub.2 S-containing acid gases streams and aqueous amine scrubbing solutions, which method comprises: contacting the H.sub.2 S-containing stream with amine scrubbing solution in the presence of an effective amount of an ammonium or alkali-metal thiosulfate salt and an effective amount of sulfide and/or hydrosulfide ions.
