2-Phenylpyridazin-3-one compounds of the formulae ##STR1## where R is C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 -alkyl; substituted or unsubstituted benzyl; substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 -cycloalkyl; a 4- to 6-membered heteroaliphatic ring containing an oxygen or a sulfur atom or an N--CH.sub.3 group as ring member; substituted or unsubstituted styryl; a substituted or unsubstituted 5- or 6-membered aromatic or heteroaromatic ring which may be benzofused, processes for their manufacture, and their use.
