Abstract

Described is an isomer-directed process for producing asymmetric ketones defined according to the generic structure: ##STR1## wherein one of Z.sub.1 or Z.sub.2 is the moiety: ##STR2## and the other of Z.sub.1 or Z.sub.2 is hydrogen; wherein R.sub.11 and R.sub.21 represent hydrogen or the same or different alkyl or alkenyl with the proviso that R.sub.11 and R.sub.21 are not both hydrogen or wherein R.sub.11 and R.sub.21 taken together:
