Abstract

The invention relates to a crosslinking process for self-crosslinking copolymers essentially based on (meth)acrylic monomers and is characterized in that, on or before the deposition of a layer containing at least one crosslinking catalyst, a second layer containing at least one self-crosslinking copolymer in suspension or in solution in an aqueous medium or in an organic solvent is applied, and in that these two layers are subjected to a heat treatment such that crosslinking of the layer containing the copolymer is initiated. The invention is used in the production of molded, impregnated, coated and printed articles, adhesives, binders, finishes, paints and varnishes.
