Abstract

The invention relates to a method for preventing and/or treating gout and hyperuricemia which comprises administering a uricosuric effective amount of a quinazoline derivative of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 each is a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to a human being in need thereof.
