Abstract
The microbicidal agents consist esentially of 5 to 50% by weight of the salt of an alkyl-di-guanidine of the formula ##STR1## in which R' and R' denote hydrogen or C.sub.8 -C.sub.18 -alkyl, and R' and R' may not simultaneously be hydrogen, m denotes a number from 2 to 6 and n denotes 0 to 1, 5 to 50% by weight of a quaternary ammonium compound of the formula ##STR2## in which R.sup.1 denotes C.sub.8 -C.sub.22 -alkyl or C.sub.8 -C.sub.22 -alkenyl, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 denote C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 -hydroxyalkyl and R.sup.4 denotes hydrogen or methyl, or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 denote C.sub.8 -C.sub.12 -alkyl, R.sup.3 denotes C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 -hydroxyalkyl and R.sup.4 denotes hydrogen or methyl, X in both cases denotes a number from 1 to 3, preferably from 1 to 2 and in particular 1,5, and A.sup..crclbar. denotes an anion of a carboxylic acid from the group comprising propiionic acid, lactic acid, glycolic acid, tartronic acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, citric acid, maleic acid and benzoic acid, and, as the remainder, water and/or a lower alcohol or a water-soluble glycol.
