Abstract

The present invention provides a test carrier for the determination of coagulation parameters, wherein it includes a test layer which contains glass fibres which are coated with polyvinyl alcohol or polyvinyl alcohol/vinyl acetate. The present invention also provides a process for the production of a glass fibre layer, wherein glass fibres are slurried in an excess of water with the addition of polyvinyl alcohol and a layer is formed according to a process conventional for the production of paper and dried at an elevated temperature. Furthermore, the present invention provides a process for the determination of coagulation parameters of blood, wherein it includes a process step in which blood is passed through a glass fibre layer which contains glass fibres which have been coated with polyvinyl alcohol or polyvinyl alcohol/vinyl acetate.
