Abstract
A detergent package having a cap of a given volume is described. The package has an indicator strip adapted to undergo a physical change upon contact with a sample of water. The physical change is visually perceptible and indicative of the amount of detergent necessary to effectively launder clothes in the water. The amount of detergent indicated by the indicator strip is expressed as a multiple of the volume of the cap. The use of the package is also described.
