Abstract

A process for producing preoxidized fibers, which comprises preoxidizing acrylic fibers having a fluorine-containing surface active agent and at least one phosphoric surface active agent selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by the following formulae (I), (II) and (III), and preoxidizing the acrylic fibers thus-obtained: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 17 carbon atoms, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4, which may be the same or different, and each represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a hydroxyethyl group or a hydroxyisopropyl group, ##STR2## wherein R.sub.5, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyethyl group.
