Abstract

A resin composition having (a) amphoionic group of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is optionally substituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkylene or phenylene and Y is --COOH or --SO.sub.3 H, (b) an ethylenically unsaturated group, and (c) a silicon-containing organic group. The resin composition is useful as a reactive emulsifier in the emulsion polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers.
