Abstract
Process for the detection of heterogeneities of a medium. It is defined in that logs of the attenuation of the shear waves and STONELEY waves are produced, the variations of each attenuation log in relation to a mean value are determined, and then the variations are compared with one another in such a manner as to determine the nature of the heterogeneity or of the petrophysical characteristic which has produced these variations.
