Abstract

A compound having the structural formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different and are hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, halogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy is disclosed. These compounds demonstrate utility as hypolipidemic agents. The present invention is also directed to a process for controlling lipidemia in mammals comprising treating mammals with a lipidemia controlling effective amount of the above-defined compound. Yet another aspect of the present invention is embodied in a pharmaceutical composition comprising the above compound and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier therefor.
