Abstract
A device and method are provided for rapidly priming a catalyst contained a catalytic pot for a two stroke engine wherein the hottest fraction of the exhaust gases is transferred upstream of said catalyst and the remaining fraction of the exhaust gases is transferred downstream of said catalyst, as long as said catalyst is not primed.
