Abstract
Photographic compound (A) capable of releasing a photographically useful group by means of intramolecular nucleophilic displacement exhibits increased resistance to hydrolysis when the compound contains in a coupling position a coupling-off group represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein Q, R.sub.q, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, n and PUG are as defined in the application. Such a compound (A) is useful in a photographic silver halide material and process.
