Abstract
A shaped body formed of a synthetic organic polymer is surface-treated for increasing the surface energy by a method including the steps of contacting the surface with a UV ray-absorbing organic liquid at a temperature and for a period of time sufficient to swell the surface; and irradiating UV rays having wave lengths in the range of 1800-2100 .ANG. on the swollen surface.
