Abstract

The invention relates to a process for effecting a high desulphuration of a fuel gas containing sulphur issuing from the gasification of sulphurous fuels, wherein the gas is subjected to the action of vapors of manganese and/or zinc and/or oxides thereof (in the form of aerosols) while it is at a temperature ranging from 1 600.degree. C. to 350.degree. C.
