Abstract

A fat emulsion containing a prostaglandin E.sub.1 alkyl ester represented by the general formula ##STR1## wherein R denotes an alkyl group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms. The fat emulsion can be administered intravenously, has a long half-life of its effective ingredient, prostaglandin E.sub.1 alkyl ester, in the living body as well as a focus selectivity.
