Compounds having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, or an alkyl from about 1 to about 3 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 is hydrogen, or an alkyl from about 1 to about 18 carbon atoms; R.sub.3 is keto, or hydroxyl; and R.sub.4 is hydrogen, an alkyl from about 1 to about 4 carbon atoms, hydroxyl, or amino are synthesized and administered to animals as anabolic agents.
