Abstract

1,2-dichlorodisilanes are reacted with the diGrignard reagents of 1,2-diethynyldisilane to yield the eight-membered ring disilanylene acetylenes of the formula: ##STR1## where R=an alkyl group, and R'=an alkyl group or an aromatic group.
