Abstract

A new nonionic, water-soluble cellulose ether, i.e., 3-alkoxy-2-hydroxypropylhydroxyethyl cellulose radical wherein alkyl moiety is a straight or branched chain alkyl group containing 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and a building composition based on hydraulic or synthetic binder containing the new nonionic, cellulose ether are disclosed. The building composition has superior physical properties as compared to prior compositions containing other cellulose derivatives.
