Abstract

A method for processing a silver halide color photographic material is described, which comprises treating said material after imagewise exposure with a color developer containing an aromatic primary amine developing agent and at least one compound represented by formula (I) ##STR1## in which X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 each represents a divalent organic group. In accordance with this method, the stability and color-forming capacity of the color developer are remarkably improved, the increment of fog during continuous processing of photographic material is greatly reduced, and the color developer need not substantially contain benzyl alcohol.
