Abstract

A novel method for processing a silver halide color photographic material is provided, which comprises processing a silver halide color photographic material having at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a reflective support with a color-developing solution substantially free of benzyl alcohol and containing at least one compound represented by formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom, --CH.sub.2 COOH, or ##STR2## R.sub.2 represents a hydrogen atom or --COOH; n represents an integer of 0 or 1; and Z represents atoms necessary for the formation of an aromatic ring.
