Abstract
A permanent oxide magnet having a basic composition of MO.Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, wherein M represents one or more elements selected from the group consisting of Sr, Ba and Pb, in a molar ratio of Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 /MO=5.3 to 6.2, a volume resistivity of less than 10.sup.7 .OMEGA..multidot.cm and a density of 4.80 g/cm.sup.3 or more, the magnet being coated with an electrodeposition paint layer. Since this permanent magnet has a low resistivity, it can be well coated with an electrodeposition coating layer.
