Abstract

A method for producing alkyl acrylates by reacting ethylene, CO, O.sub.2 and an alkanol in the presence of a PdCl.sub.2 /CuCl.sub.2 catalyst to produce an alkyl propionate which is passed over a base-treated zeolite catalyst to produce the alkyl acrylate.
