Abstract
Disclosed herein is a novel process for producing a substantially linear PAS which contains an electrolytic alkali metal of not more than 50 ppm, shows a melt viscosity of 10 to 300 poise (measured at 310.degree. C. and at a shear rate of 10,000 sec.sup.-1) and is suitable as a resin for packaging electronic parts.
