Abstract
A silver halide light-sensitive material is disclosed, comprising a support having thereon at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer comprising silver halide grains and a binder, at least about 50 wt % of said silver halide grains comprising a silver halide grain matrix having thereon from about 10 to 10,000 protrusions per square micrometer of grain matrix surface, said individual protrusions having an average projected area diameter of up to about 0.15 .mu.m, and a halogen composition of said protrusions differing from that of the grain matrix; said silver halide emulsion being chemically sensitized with at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a sulfur compound, a selenium compound, a reducing compound and a noble metal compound; and said silver halide emulsion being spectrally sensitized with a methine dye. A method for preparing a silver halide light-sensitive material comprising a support having thereon at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer comprising the steps of:
