Abstract
The chain for pressing a plurality of annular segments against a pipeline includes a plurality of links which are interconnected by pivot pins. At least some of the pivot pins are provided with eccentrics which are disposed within the inner links so that upon turning of a pivot pin using a suitable tool, the tension on the chain can be adjusted. Nuts are rigidly secured at the ends of the pivot pins carrying the eccentrics to facilitate turning of these pivot pins.
