Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of quantitative assay for 1,5-anhydroglucitol which comprises oxidizing 1,5-anhydroglucitol in an aqueous solution of a specimen in the presence of an electron acceptor to produce a compound represented by formula (1) below or a hydrate thereof represented by formula (2) below and quantitatively determining 1,5-anhydroglucitol from a consumption amount of said electron acceptor in said aqueous solution of a specimen or from a production amount of the reduction product of said electron acceptor produced or from an amount of oxidized product of 1,5-AG represented by formula (1) or formula (2). ##STR1##
