Abstract

Card for use in a security system having at least two rows of spaced apart metallic elements with a predetermined arrangement so that the metallic elements are encoded with a non-erasable code. An opaque material encases the metallic elements to form a card-like member and to make the metallic elements invisible to the human eye. Method for forming a card for use in a security system which comprises a metallic planar sheet and removing material from the sheet to provide a plurality of metallic elements arranged in at least two rows. At least portions of at least certain of the metallic elements are removed to place a unique code in the elements. The elements are then encased in an opaque material to form a card-like member and to conceal the metallic elements from the human eye.
