Abstract

A method is disclosed for preparing an improved aluminum alloy plate product wherein the plate produced from an Al-Li-Cu-Mg alloy in the T351 condition is subjected to a thermal aging treatment wherein the plate is exposed to a temperature of about 170.degree. C..+-.2.degree. C. for about 32 hours .+-.0.5 hours.
