Abstract

Nontoxic, aqueous, contact lens cleaning compositions containing a weakly anionic surfactant, and optionally also a chelating agent, urea and/or a source of hydrated protons, and methods of chemically removing protein, lipid and calcium deposits from contact lens utilizing these compositions are described.
