Abstract

An organic electrolyte cell having a negative electrode composed of Li, a positive electrode composed mainly of Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3 and an organic electrolyte. The Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3 is heat-treated above 650.degree. C. to increase the discharge capacity of the cell.
