Abstract

Doped co-precipitates of magnetite (Fe.sub.3 O.sub.4) and ACO.sub.3, wherein A is barium, are prepared by a simplified process. This process involves reacting together, in an aqueous medium containing dopant ions, a ferric compound, a ferrous compound, a barium compound and an alkali metal carbonate.
