Abstract
The invention relates to enantiomers of 1-(6-phenoxy-2-pyridyl)ethanols of the formula ##STR1## wherein * is (+) or (-) and X and Y are each independently of the other hydrogen, halogen, nitro, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, C.sub.2 -C.sub.5 alkenyl or C.sub.2 -C.sub.5 alkynyl. The invention also relates to the preparation of these enantiomers and to their use for the preparation of biocidal compounds.
