Abstract

Disclosed is a process for preparing crystalline silicas having the monoclinic symmetry which comprises the step of calcining in air for at least 3 hours at a temperature of at least 500.degree. C. a crystalline silica of the silicalite type having a silica to alumina atomic ratio of at least 80.
